Choosing the right lamp to decorate your home can be both fun and exciting, but it can also be somewhat challenging.

To make the process easier and to help you find the best place for your new antler lamp, we at Qubita have gathered our best tips in this blog post!

Does It Suit the Space?

How would an antler lamp look together with the style and interior of the room or house itself? If the room where you plan to place the lamp has a cool retro style, for example, you may want to think twice before adding an antler lamp there. Antler lamps can create a striking effect in modern environments, but to achieve that majestic and impressive appearance, they are often best suited to rooms with a cozy atmosphere, perhaps decorated in a more rustic or countryside-inspired style.

What Size Should the Lamp Be?

A simple rule when choosing ceiling lamps is to match the size of the lamp to the size of the room and the ceiling height. In simpler terms, this means that a large chandelier will usually fit beautifully in a spacious room with high ceilings. If you instead have a smaller lounge or sitting room, for example, it may be wiser to choose a smaller model.

Choosing a smaller ceiling lamp does not mean it will look worse — it simply means the lamp is appropriately sized to stand out and truly complement the room.

A large ceiling lamp in a small room can make the room feel even smaller because the lamp dominates the space. The proportions can look unbalanced, and the lamp may not be appreciated as much as it deserves.

Which Room?

In principle, you can place an antler lamp almost anywhere, as long as it suits the surrounding interior. Wall lamps and similar lighting work wonderfully to complete the cozy atmosphere in bedrooms, but they can look just as exclusive in a bathroom if you want to increase the wow factor there.

The most common places for antler lamps are large entrance halls, living rooms, or above the dining table. These spaces often have high ceilings so that the chandelier is not in the way or at risk of being bumped into. If your ceiling is lower, choosing a smaller model is usually the better option to avoid the room looking awkward or crowded.

Antler lamps are also the perfect complement to hunting lodges or mountain cabins, as they pair beautifully with rough timber walls, crackling fireplaces, and plenty of cozy blankets.

Not Enough Light?

Have you completely fallen in love with a chandelier but feel uncertain about whether it will provide enough light?

Antler lamps generally create a warm and cozy glow, and relying on only one ceiling lamp as the sole light source can sometimes be a mistake. If the lamp hangs high up, even more light may be lost.

If you decide that you would like the room to feel brighter, there are two options. The first is to choose bulbs that emit stronger light. The downside is that the cozy atmosphere may disappear if the light becomes too white or harsh.

The second option is to add more lamps that complement the ceiling light. A pair of matching antler wall lamps, for example, can provide additional lighting without losing the warm atmosphere of the room. You also do not need to worry about them clashing with the interior design.

Real or Artificial Antler Lamp?

The first thing worth mentioning is that deer, moose, and similar animals are not hunted because of their antlers. The antlers used are either naturally shed antlers from the season or antlers from regular hunting game. In other words, the animals are not negatively affected in any way by the production of antler lamps.

Artificial antler lamps also do not look as unrealistic as some people might think. Thanks to our suppliers’ careful craftsmanship and attention to detail, they are incredibly lifelike, and the color of the antlers can be controlled more precisely.

Your choice between a real or artificial antler lamp mainly depends on your budget and how specific your preferences are. Qubita sells antler products made from both real and artificial antlers, all manufactured in Europe.

Both types of antler lamps are beautiful and will create a wonderfully unique atmosphere in your home!
